The American Council on Exercise was established in 1985. Since then the organization is currently considered to be the largest certifier in its space. ACE is known for educating and certifying as the organization represents more than 55,000 fitness professionals, health coaches, and other allied health professionals. As the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association thrives to reach people in their preventable stages of health, the similarities of prioritizing the engagement of individuals and organizations to build a culture of health were realized to be common goals of the two organizations. The collaboration of the two organizations was established in 2015 and will continue to be a force in communities and lives of individuals to focus on heart health and stroke prevention.
