The Links, Incorporated recognizes that diversifying the physician workforce is one component that can improve the health of the African-American community. Knowing that the cost of a medical education is financially challenging, The Links, Incorporated will award five scholarships to medical students. Download the application.
The Links, Incorporated was established in 1946 as an international not-for-profit corporation. The organization currently consists of 14,000 professional women of color that are members of the 282 chapters located in 41 states, the District of Columbia and the Commonwealth of the Bahamas. The Links, Incorporated is one of the nation’s oldest and largest volunteer service organizations that was founded on commitment to enriching, sustaining and ensuring the culture and economic survival of African Americans. The organization has programming that lies under five targeted facets which include, Health and Human Services that was established to address chronic health disparities that are prevalent in black communities. The alliance of The Links, Incorporated and American Heart Association and Stroke Association will allow both organizations to work together to achieve improved coordination to progress toward goals and targets set forth.
