Spread Heart Disease and Stroke Awareness in Your Community

Heart disease and stroke are two of our nation’s leading killers, and multicultural communities fall behind in taking action to reduce the risk of heart disease and stroke. We need your help spreading heart disease and stroke awareness to your communities. As a leader in your community, you have the power to shape the future. Because your voice is heard, you can educate. Because your influence is felt, you can change behaviors. Because your call is answered, you can mobilize others to work with you. Focusing on the fight against heart disease and stroke is one of the most worthy ways you can use your power on behalf of the community.

After Coretta Scott King died in January 2006 of a stroke, her daughter Yolanda became the first National Ambassador of the Power To End Stroke campaign. The mission of Power To End Stroke and Yolanda King has expanded. The focus is not only on stroke, but also heart disease. With this broadened mission it seemed only reasonable that the name would be more encompassing, as well. Today, the mission of EmPOWERED to Serve is to not only to educate communities about the risks of heart disease and stroke, but also to draw communities together to work toward building a sustainable culture of health.

We invite you to become an EmPOWERED to Serve Ambassador and share your power to make a difference. All that is required is to register as an Ambassador and complete at least one awareness activity in your community per year.

Become an Ambassador today!

You can help us work to draw communities together on the path to building a sustainable culture of health.
